rHEALTH™ Fluorogenic FVIII Assay Kit

The kit offers a fluorescence-based, two-stage FVIII assay for determining the Factor VIII activity in citrated human plasma. The assay requires a single calibration curve that covers 1-200% FVIII activity level. This kit is intended for professional use only.

Available in select EU Countries only.* Not available for sale in the United States.

Applications

The kit can be used with standard laboratory equipment to enable greater FVIII monitoring capabilities in a variety of locations:

  • Clinical facilities
  • Research laboratories

Assay Principle

The fluorogenic method can be performed in microplate or test tubes. The assay principle is based on a sequence of reactions that include FVIII, FIX, FX, phospholipids, and proprietary peptide S-FLXa, which ultimately results in generation of fluorophore-dependent FVIII activity in the plasma sample.

Assay Highlights

Two-stage assays eliminate many of the drawbacks of the one-stage assays (Potgieter 2015). The rHEALTH™ FVIII assay provides a method requiring fewer steps to quantitatively monitor factor VIII activity with similar sensitivity compared to two-stage coagulation assays.

  • Single range that covers 1-200% FVIII
  • No separate high and low ranges
  • Fewer steps than competing chromogenic method

Each kit allows for up to 288 data points, and the kit can accurately detect FVIII levels between 1-200%.
